Characters: Rowena and Griffin
We can read this story in the present time. We can read this story from Rowena's point of view. The beginning of the story references we get to the end. We fly back to the present where Rowena and Maggie's compete with bicycle. Maggie's life loses in an unfortunate accident. Rowena gives flowers for Maggie's parents a year later. The girl's life will completely changed.
At the pont we can read this story from changed perspective. This is interesting because the person is the same but she's living conditions of others. This situation is confuses the reader.
The structure of the story is help we let's see the whole picture. The writer's style by making emotional full story, she is playing with your mind.
Rowena is live in a "prison" every day and they are assaulted her long time ago. It's interesting that despite all what you went through is difficult, but the ability to trust others. However, her decisions are not always correct. On the day of her release she finds herself in a party. When she meet Jared, he is a psychopath. At this point I would love to if it wasn't clear Jared's mental problems. He's brother is Griffin. He just like Rowena live in the dark, but he would love to live in shine. He will clear everything after his brother.
What happens if he's sick brother's life? What happens if he doesn't want to live like that? How long can he do it to not suck?
Tragedy, mental problems and love there, where no one would have thought.
A történetet jelen időben, főszereplőnk Rowena szemszögéből olvashatjuk. Az elején utalást kapunk a történet végére, aztán visszarepülünk a jelenbe ahol Rowena és Maggie éppen versenyeznek. Egy szerencsétlen baleset következményeként Maggie életét veszíti. Rowena egy évvel később Maggie halálának évfordulóján kedvességből virágot visz a szülőknek. Soha nem képzelte hogy az élete gyökerestől megváltozik.
Itt váltott szemszögben olvashatunk, ami azért érdekes hogy ugyan a személy ugyanaz azonban annak életkörülményei teljesen mások. Az olvasót ez egy kicsit megzavarja, kell egy kis idő amíg rájön hogy mi történik.
A történet felépítésének fokozatossága segít abban hogy teljes képet kapjunk. Az írónő stílusa által teszi érzelmekkel telivé történetét, játszik az elméddel.
Adott Rowena aki egy "börtönben" éli mindennapjait, bántalmazzák éveken keresztül. Érdekes hogy mindazok ellenére amin keresztül ment nehezen ugyan, de képes megbízni másokban. Viszont döntései nem mindig bizonyulnak helyesnek, ugyanis kiszabadulása napján egy házibuliban találja magát. Itt jön a képbe Jared, aki egy pszichopata. Itt szerettem volna, ha egy kicsit nehezebb lett volna kitalálni hogy a férfi mentális problémákkal küzd.
Jared által ismerjük meg Griffin-t, a testvérét. Csakúgy mint Rowena ő is a sötétségben él, de testvérétől eltérően szemében pislákol még a fény. Egy szerető báty, aki mindent eltakarít testvére után, szó szerint mindent.
De mi van akkor ha megelégeli testvére életvitelét? Mi történik ha már nem akar így élni? Meddig tudja ezt csinálni úgy hogy be nem szippantja?
Tragédia, mentális problémák és szerelem ott ahol senki nem hitte volna.
