A történet a jelenben játszódik, váltott szemszögben olvashatjuk, a két főszereplő Derek & Amelia. Ezen felül további négy mellékszereplő életébe kapunk betekintést. Sztorink rendelkezik a romantikus műfaj összes jellegzetességével, azon belül az ellenségekből lett "szeretők" címkéhez sorolnám.
Amelia egy jólelkű, ámde rendkívül zárkózott személyiség, gyakorlatilag ha tehetné láthatatlanná válna. Őszintén szólva nagyon sokáig nem értettem hogy miért?! Nem éreztem hogy annyira rossz sora lenne a suliban, igazából nem nagyon foglalkozott vele senki. Nem küzdött kirekesztettséggel, néhány apró piszkálódástól eltekintve... Szerintem jobban is ki lehetett volna fejteni zárkózottságának okát így az olvasó is át érezné a helyzetét. Egy véletlen során megismerkedik Max-el, aki új tanuló az iskolában. A fiú láthatóan vonzódik hozzá, itt kerül a képbe Derek King. Aki egyébként nem csak a nevéből kiindulva király, hanem az iskolában elfoglalt ranglétrán elfoglalt helye miatt is. Egyébként King a hoki csapat játékosa, de ezen felül nem éreztem hogy szemétkedne bárkivel is... ugyan a két fiú között megy a f***méregetés, verekedés stb...inkább mondanám félénknek, olyan kis cuki. Igen itt kezdődik a probléma, sajnos nem sikerült meg kedvelnem annyira amennyire kellett volna.
A lány múltbéli gyerekes "tette" miatt utálja Dereket, bár hogy őszinte legyek, szerintem nevetséges hogy egy ilyen mondvacsinált ok miatt nem áll szóba vele. Pláne egy olyan dolog miatt amit még csak nem is ő csinált, bár nem is tett ellene semmit. Ami szintúgy gázos....
Azonban egy projektnek köszönhetően kénytelenek együtt dolgozni, a rengeteg együtt töltött idő során egyre közelebb kerülnek egymáshoz. De egy félreértés felborítja az egészet.

The story takes place in the present, it can be read from changed point of view; the two protagonists are Derek & Amelia. In addition, we are gotten an insight into the lives of four other supporting characters. The story contains all the features of the romantic genre, and I think I would classify it in the second-chance romance genre.
Amelia is a kind-hearted, but a very private person. She would make herself invisible if she could. Honestly, for a long time I didn't understand why?! I’ve not felt that it would be bad for her at school; actually nobody paid any attention to her. She wasn’t excluded, apart from some tiny jokes ... I think it could have been explained the reason of her withdrawn behaviour so the reader can also feel her position. She accidentally becomes acquainted with Max, the new student at school. The boy is attracted to her. That's where Derek King comes into play. He is the „king” not only because of his name, but also his place within the social hierarchy. Moreover, King is a hockey player, but I don’t think he is a bastard ... Although the two guys are always competing and fighting each other etc. ... I'd say he is shy, and so cute. Yes. This is where the problem begins, unfortunately I could not take a liking to him as much as I should have.
She hates Derek because of his past childish „acts”. Though, to be honest, it's ridiculous that she does not talk to him because of such a thing. Especially because of things that he hasn't even done. Even though, he did nothing about it. This is kind of embarrassing.
However, due to a project, they have to work together, and during their time together they are getting closer and closer to each other. But everything was getting crazy because of a simple misunderstanding.
Would you give him a chance to explain it? Can you trust anyone again? Do you think there is a second chance?
