Release Blitz + ARC Review | Things I Wanted To Say (But Never Did) by Monica Murphy

There are maybe 4-5 books in your whole life that have such an impact on you and Things I Wanted To Say (But Never Did) exactly one of these. This one became my ever favorite!

Things I Wanted To Say (But Never Did) by Monica Murphy is now live!

Whit Lancaster burst into my life like a storm. Dark and thunderous, furious and fierce. Cold, heartless and devastatingly beautiful, like the statues in our prep school gardens. The school with his family name on the sign. He can do no wrong here. This is his domain.

He's a menace on campus. Adored and feared. Hated and respected. His taunting words carve into my skin, shredding me to ribbons. Yet his intense gaze scorches my blood, fills me with a longing I don't understand.

When I stumble upon him one night alone, I find him broken. Bleeding. My instincts scream to leave and let him suffer, but I can't. I sneak him into my room. Clean him up. Fall for his lies. Let him possess every single part of me until I'm the one left a gasping, broken mess.

When he leaves me alone in the dead of night, he takes my journal with him.

Now he knows all my secrets. My hate. My truth. And he promises to use my words against me. I'll be ruined if my darkest secret gets out.

That's when I strike a bargain with the devil.

I'll let Whit Lancaster ruin me behind closed doors instead.

(July 15th) I started to read it yesterday and finished yesterday as well. I've read from Monica before, but this book is completely different! There are maybe 4-5 books in your whole life that have such an impact on you and Things I Wanted To Say (But Never Did) exactly one of these. This one became my ever favorite!
(July 16th) I'm sitting and writing this review now 9 a.m. CEST and I FEEL EVERYTHING, IT'S TOO MUCH, TOO HARD TO NOT FEEL IT! I read this book in just eight hours. I just can't let go of the characters. I CAN'T! I was impressed by the atmosphere of the story in the first few chapters. It feels like something's pressing hard on your chest. It's good, painful but good.
Whit, my new favorite dirty talking, coldest and hottest ever alpha asshole. Oh my goddaammmmmm. I'm ADDICTED to WHIT!
He did everything he could to make Summer feel like nothing. In the meantime, he felt everything for her.
Summer was an amazing heroine, she didn't react for Whit's interactions, just laying and pretend like she didn't care. How well she did!
I loved watching their relationship evolve from hate to something completely different. The right word for it is obsession. That kind of obsession slowly turning into love. This type of psychical connection is totally killing me! When everything starts with touches, kisses, some dark and kinky things in the bedroom then it transforms and become star-crossing love. It's very rare, it's threatening my mind and soul.
That's exactly what I'm looking for romance books. I'll re-read it soon!!!
I heard this music today and then I thought of them. You should listen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7TEwjIn3Ns

ARC Review | Amo Jones: In Fury Lies Mischief | Midnight Mayhem Book II.

2020. március 7., szombat

Blurb

She was everything that I wanted.
He was everything that I despised.

Until she wasn’t.
Until he wasn’t.

Killian Cornellii was a walking calamity. He reached inside of me and touched every single inch of my ruined soul, but he didn’t just touch it. He caressed, petted, and captivated it. He tailored me to fit into the palm of his hands. The same hands that possess so much cruelty, were the very same that comforted me.

I thought I knew him.
He thought he knew me.

This isn’t a fairy tale, or some achingly beautiful story about two soul mates who instantly fall irrevocably in love with each other.

This is a story about a love so painful, so rich, that it destroys everything and everyone around it.
Including ourselves.

Midnight Mayhem is the platform to which Killian performs his tricks on, but the greatest trick wouldn’t come from him.

It would come from me.

Tricksters don’t have hearts.
They just pretend that they do.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

In Fury Lies Mischief is the second book of Midnight Mayhem series. It can be read as a STANDALONE. We can read the story from Killian & Saskia's POV.
When I take an Amo book or write a review about it I just can't help myself. I'm flooding the story all the time. It is what it brings out of me.  I read from a lot of authors, but she's my BEST EVER.
The highlight of my life when I start to read a new book from Amo. Everytime when I got her books in my hands, the real world is disappears. From that moment only that world exists what Amo's created. And this world ruined me. Fucking. Ruined. Me. This feeling, this characters! I can't explain with words. This is FUCKING EPIC.
I thought there is no character who I liked better than King. I was wrong, again. KILLIAN IS PERFECT.  He is occupant and savage but simultaneously he is a protector and a real likeable character. We can know a new heroine. She is Saskia. Her character has long been a mystery to me. I didn't understand if she didn't know about Killian why did she fight so vehemently against. However, that there is no escaping, because, yes it's LOVE. Twisted, dark and maybe ugly, but LOVE. Meanwhile, I felt that this whole thing isn't that simple. Something is happening in the background. Somewhere there is a missing piece which makes it a whole picture. I thought nothing new, already she can't surprise me. Yeah, I was wrong, again. She masterfully twist the story. The whole thing taking place before my eyes and I didn't see. She did it again, she gave us a PERFECT STORY again. Although I still don't understand why I'm so surprised...You need to read!!!!

Genevieve's review in Hungarian

Az In Fury Lies Mischief a Midnigh Mayhem sorozat második része, önálló kötetként is olvasható.
Szóval kezdem áradozásom, ezért előre is bocs ;)

A Hurt So Sweet: Volume 1 by Betti Rosewood
Series: An Elite of Eden Falls Prep

Blurb

If you can't beat the rich boys...
F*ck them.

Lily Anna Oakes and I share everything.

We have the same billion-dollar name, the same designer clothes, and the same messed up problems.

But Lily Anna and I will never meet. She died years ago.

This town broke her. I’ll burn it to the ground before I let that happen to me.

In Eden Falls, I’m forced to attend a school for the elite. The Firstborns own this place and they think they own me, too. It’s not long before Dexter, Caspian, Lai, and Julian become the bane of my existence.

There are only two people I’m afraid of – my strict father, and my malevolent fiancé. Unfortunately for me, my husband-to-be is one of the Firstborns ruining my life.

Dexter Booth and I will marry on my birthday to secure our families’ bond.

Every woman in this damn town wants to be Dexter’s toy. Except me.

Dex and his Eden Falls Prep cronies have forced me to give up my body. I know my betrothed wants my mind next.

I play along… But soon, I’ll leave the beautiful jerk behind without the thing he wants most from me.

His heir.
I cannot tell you how much I’ve waited for AHSS. I absolutely loved her books that she'd written earlier under the name Fawn Bailey. I missed her dark and taboo stories. I read the whole book in a few hours!

We can read the story in present time from Lily Anna’s POV rather than Dexter's. Dexter's POV is what you expect more than anything. I have a lot of questions. Obviously you must have a BIG QUESTION, but I’m not going to ask that! I have a theory and if you would love to talk about it write a msg me ;) I don't bite.

AHSS is like a drug, you want the next dose, and it will never enough for you. It plays a cruel game with your mind. You’re so helpless, you cheer, yell, rejoice, and then you just stare, staring open-mouthed. But damn it's not gonna happen what you expect; it was completely unpredictable! At first, it plays with your senses, she makes you think that you must hate him. She fools into the deluded fantasy and then it precipitates into the abyss. The most perplexing thing is that, however, you want to be there at the bottom, you want to jump together with the protagonist. You completely experience what she went through.

Lily Anna is a completely different protagonist than I've read so far. She finds herself in impossible situations all the time, and yet she tries to stay strong all the time.  After a while, she seems to be waiting for the penalty she deserves. A little sick, but in a good way.

Dexter, I don't know where to put him at all. I hate him, I love him. I would love to kick his ass. I can feel that there’s something under the surface that goes beyond the revenge. Frankly, he is a damn annoying character, but the kind that gets in and it clings to the rear corner of your brain.

That would be my opinion of the end! WTF? Seriously Betti? When will I get my next dose?

Genevieve review in Hungarian

Utálom, szeretem, a földbe döngölném.

WTF?! Komolyan Betti??? Mikor is kapom a következő adagot?

Excerpt

One

Taking the steps leading up to Oakes Estate is making me quiver in my studded boots.

But I’ll never show my family how scared I am.

It’s been four years since I’ve seen my biological father. Four years since he and my stepmother shipped me off to a boarding school, just hours after meeting me for the very first time.

Now, I’m back – armed with the knowledge of etiquette, having learned two foreign languages, and having spent day after day buried between the pages of books. Now, I’ve finally been deemed ready to be introduced to their high society.

The driver who brought me from the airport appears by my side, giving me an encouraging smile. “Excited to see your family again, Miss Lily Anna?”

I’m desperate to interrupt. Tell him to use my real name, Pandora. But I fight the urge to correct him.

“About as excited as they seem to be,” I mutter in response.

He laughs, then coughs to cover it up. Of course, he isn’t allowed to think badly of my real family, just like I’m not. They’re practically royalty in this town.

“I’ll walk you in,” the driver, Kelley, offers, and I give him a curt nod, falling into step beside him.

There’s nobody waiting outside for me. You’d think my new family would be excited for the prodigal daughter to return, but Oakes Estate looms before me, silent, and majestic.

I step inside the impressive mansion that carries my real last name, trembling all over. The staff has gathered in the marble hall – over fifteen people who seem to be more interested in their shoes than getting a good look at the heiress of their workplace.

I look at them one by one. They’re all wearing the same uniforms – men in black and white, and the women in white and sky blue. Their faces are hard, rigid. All except for one girl – tall, willowy and incredibly beautiful. I’m mesmerized by her, but before I can inspect her further, a figure appears at the top of the stairwell, staring at me critically.

My father commands attention. Even I can’t deny that.

He’s tall, handsome and everything about him screams money .

Now, he stares down at me, his gaze filled with cool curiosity as he bellows, “Welcome home, daughter.”

I bow my head in respect just as I’ve been taught as he descends the impressive staircase. He doesn’t offer me a hug, or a smile. He just inspects me without mercy, as if I’m there for a job interview.

“You will find a few new items in your chambers. The help will have to take you shopping one of these days too, so you can fit in better. Your old clothes were…” He smirks. “Not appropriate.”

“Thanks,” I grit out. “And when do I get to see the rest of my… family again?”

“Your brother and sister are out,” Father says. “And your stepmother is… visiting a dear friend.”

“Of course,” I scoff.

I’m sure a dear friend is so much more important than me coming home. And I’m also sure it’s code for her plastic surgeon.

Father narrows his eyes at me. Great . I’ve been here five minutes and I’ve already managed to piss him off.

Such a warm welcome from the Oakes family, I think bitterly. After years of being away, this is how they treat me?

“Belle will show you to your room,” my father continues, gesturing to a tall blonde woman standing by the girl I’d admired earlier.

They look so alike I can’t help but think they must be related – mother and daughter, perhaps?

“Thank you,” I reply sans emotion, staring at the ground.

“Oh, something else, daughter.” He pauses, and I can feel how displeased he is with me already. “Could you pay attention?”

I don’t even want to look at him. I’m too nervous to hold his gaze. I barely know this man, despite being his biological daughter. And even though his ‘welcome back’ greeting is cool and collected, I can’t help but hope he’ll warm to me. Regard me with more interest, and perhaps, someday, even love me like a father should.

“Yes?” I manage to get out, raising my eyes to his. “How can I be of service, father dearest?”

Again, displeasure flashes across his face.

I search his features for familiarities and am disappointed when I find some. We look alike. I am Emilian Oakes’ daughter – not that there was any doubt of it before. Not after the DNA test he made me take.

“There will be new rules now that you’re in Eden Falls,” he explains. “There is a notebook explaining a few of them in your room.”

“Great.” I fight the urge to roll my eyes. “Can’t wait.”

“I will see you tonight at dinner, daughter,” my father continues. “It’s served at seven p.m. sharp. Do not be late.”

His words don’t leave any room for arguments, and I nod wordlessly as he takes a step closer to me. He regards me yet again, his eyes scrutinizing my appearance. Despite the graying hair at his temple and the hint of silver in his beard, my father is a very good-looking man.

“I was hoping to speak to Tatianna and Brazen before I start school next week.” I fidget with the hem of my dress.

“They will be at dinner. And daughter… I sent you to that boarding school to learn some manners.” He glares at me. “Please don’t tell me I wasted my money.”

“Of course not,” I smile icily.

I know exactly how he wants me to behave but refuse to give him the pleasure of doing as he says.

“I want you to know,” he goes on calmly. “There are consequences for girls who don’t follow the rules. Bad, bad consequences.”

Boys That Tease by Betti Rosewood

Lords of WildWood Book One
Release date: 2019. june 3.

Blurb:

𝑾𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈. 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒅. 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒚. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒖𝒏.

She knew being the new girl at Wildwood would never be easy, considering who she is. But nobody warned Tinsley Sullivan we'd be doing everything in our power to make her high school experience one of the most horrible times of her life.

They say my name like I'm their king. 𝐶𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑛 𝐷𝑎𝑙𝑡𝑜𝑛. Teachers and students worship the ground I walk on. They all follow my lead... Except for ℎ𝑒𝑟.

I didn't think she'd have it in her to fight back. It's kind of adorable that she won't budge, refusing to break for me, to submit to my cruel desires. Except I'll never stop pushing for more. I'm ready to make her life so miserable, she'll be begging me to stop hurting her.

There's just one thing that's messing it all up.

Tinsley is off-f*cking-limits.

And I need to keep that in mind when I kiss my girlfriend... her best friend.

EVERYTHING she writes is supposed to be read cuz her books are PHENOMENAL. Doesn't matter whether is she Fawn, Isabella or Betti. I was stuck into the story from the first page. Betti placed her story on a solid base, and she remained loyal to the reality from cover to cover. We got a kind, cheeky heartwarming story. WildWood games are in the main line; Tins & Crispin’s relationship is a subplot. The story is full of twists and turns, Plenty of questions will be answered, although some of them remained unanswered. The plot can be tracked, smooth, easy to read.
Our main characters are Tinsley & Crispin; they are likable. Their feelings and despair are evident.  They are struggling. Tins wants to get rid of feelings of guilt. Crispin takes control.
We look back in time at the beginning of the story, and then it continues in the present. It’s necessary since we'll get a lot of responses to question later.
Crispin is King of Wildwood High, and Tinsley is the new girl. Crispin has a history with Tinsley, but will their future be common? Tension can be felt between them. But does it come from fear, guilt, or desire?
Tinsley Sullivan is a good-natured, kind and a little naive girl. You couldn' t not Iike her. Sometimes when things don’t work out the way she wants them to,  she'll try to do the right thing. I liked her, but I didn't always agree with her.
Crispin Dalton is the king of WildWood High, but I am pleasantly surprised at him. Of course, he can be a big asshole, but basically it's not his thing. He’s kind, attentive and gentle. He knows his own boundaries; he knows he wants things that he can't have. But what if he does?
I must also mention Tinsley's best friend, Estella, as she is also a key person in the story. Stells is an innocent, kind, willing and manipulative character. I hated her specifically.

Manipulation, false friendships and duplicitous people. One day at WildWood High High School. Where envy is a huge driving force(?). But who is jealous of; and the main question! Who will be the king?

𝑾𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈. 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒅. 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒚. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒖𝒏.

Az első oldaltól kezdve beszippantott. Betti szilárd alapokra helyezte történetét, az első oldaltól az utolsóig hű maradt a valósághoz. Egy kedves, pimasz szívhez szóló sztorit kaptunk. Fő vonalon a Wildwood-i játszmák, mellékszálon Tins & Crispin kapcsolata.
Fordulatokban bővelkedik, rengeteg kérdésre kapunk választ, bár akadnak melyek megválaszolatlanok maradnak. A cselekmény végig követhető, gördülékeny, könnyen olvasható.
Főszereplőink Tinsley & Crispin, könnyen szerethetőek, érzéseik, kétségbeesésük átérezhető. Őrlődnek, Tins szeretne megszabadulni a bűntudattól.

Kié lesz a király?

“Did you see how she fell?” A girl snickered.

“Serves her right,” another voice answered. “You read the articles, right?”

I stiffened, pulling my feet up onto the toilet so they wouldn’t know I was there.

“Yeah,” the first girl sighed. “Poor Crispin. That girl is bad news.”

“He should’ve done something worse to her,” the other girl agreed. “Like cut that braid off. He’d be doing her a favor, anyway. I mean, lilac hair? Really? What is this, 2009 at Coachella?”

I forced myself to bite back tears, waiting until they left the bathroom to exit. My face was red and blotchy, but I only had five minutes until the next class, and I couldn’t afford to be late, again.

I forced myself to bite back tears, waiting until they left the bathroom to exit. My face was red and blotchy, but I only had five minutes until the next class, and I couldn’t afford to be late, again.

Pushing open the door, I walked into the hallway, feeling every pair of eyes in the long space on me. I kept my head down, briskly walking toward the next class, when he called out to me.

“Hey, crybaby!”

The hallway was so quiet I could have heard a feather float. I tried to keep moving when he appeared in front of me.

“I was talking to you, Devin Mooney .”

I looked up into Crispin’s stupid storm-grey eyes, hating every second of our interaction.

Ugh, he was ridiculously handsome. How was this fair to the rest of us mortals? And why did he keep picking on me?

“Don’t call me that,” I muttered. “In fact, don’t call me fucking anything.”

“Crybaby?” He laughed. “I think I will, actually. Suits you, since you’re already crying on your first goddamn day. Which, let me remind you, could have been prevented.”

“Stay away from me, Crispin. I don’t need you.”

“Oh, poor little rich girl,” he smirked. “I think you and that mother of yours are the ones who need to stay the fuck away. I’m just giving you the option to make your life here better than the fucking nightmare you’re in store for if you don’t do as I say.”

“You don’t belong.”

No words whispered in anger have ever rung more true.

They’re the Kings of Brayshaw with the world at their feet, destined for greatness and in need of control.
I’m the girl from the ghetto with nothing to offer and as defiant as they come.

They say it doesn’t matter, that I’m one of them now, and nothing could ever change that. Not even me, should I dare try.

But they’re wrong.
They underestimate how far I’ll go to protect them.

Trouble is coming...and they have no idea.
-----

Trouble At Brayshaw High is the the highly anticipated follow up to Boys of Brayshaw High, and should be read only after having read book one.

Find book one, Boys of Brayshaw High, here: http://bit.ly/BOBHUniversal

You have no idea how glad I was when I received the notification about I was selected for an ARC instance. It was the most anticipated book of the month for me and it's not in vain. I just got what I expected. It's an exciting book with crazy plot. It was simply breathtaking, I got goosebumps while reading.
The story can be read from Raven and Maddoc's point of view. I'm glad to know Maddoc's feelings better than in the first book of the series. I really enjoyed.
The plot of the book is well-structured. I liked not knowing what’s gonna happen, so it’s not a cliche at all. More than 100 or 1000 books have been published on similar topics, but this series is completely unique, outstanding of its kind. However, I felt that so many things happened at once. Things have become a little complicated…
After the end of the previous section, I was pissed of, this ENDING! Ah ... I just got a lot of answers for this and more questions. Thanks Meagan. ;)
Raven is still the hard chick she was in the first part, which made me really happy. Despite all this, her character has undergone many developments until the end of book 2.
Maddoc AKA Big Man, he had some manifestations/actions that I did not agree with. However, he also developed a lot and became much more patient. I wouldn't say that he is calmer, but he changed a lot.

In spite of that, he and Royce are still my favorites in the book.
Cap, I like him, but I couldn't place him. I think I need some time and of course another book. ;) I miss them so much!

Secrets. Rivalry. Brotherhood. And of course more secrets. But the question is whether  you are ready.

Dive into the life of Brayshaw High, but be careful. Not everything is as it seems.

A könyv cselekménye jól felépített. Kicsit összekuszálódtak a szálak.
Mindezek ellenére jelleme rengeteg fejlődésen esett át a 2. rész végéig.
Maddoc AKA Big Man, volt néhány megnyilvánulása amellyel nem értettem egyet. Azonban, ő is rengeteget fejlődött, sokkal türelmesebb lett.

I grip the ends of my hair and pull, trying to lessen the pounding at my temples. My body and mind are exhausted, and my head is taking the heat from it.
It doesn’t help a damn thing, so I drop onto the bar stool and look to the clock.
It’s past three a.m. and still, no sign of Raven.
Captain is pacing the fucking house while Royce keeps walking in and out the front door with his arms crossed over his chest.
I shake my head. Only hours gone, and the three of us are losing our damn minds. This girl, she’s got us all sorts of fucked up.
She had slipped out front only minutes after coming downstairs, and I was seconds from following her ass, but didn’t. I kept my feet planted and gave her the time I convinced myself she needed to build back the sass or fire she was ready to throw.
When fifteen minutes ticked by and she still hadn’t walked back in, I knew without looking she took off, pulled a fucking Raven and made a solo decision.
And a solo decision meant a stupid fucking decision.
That’s the thing about Raven Carver, she does whatever the hell she wants, makes shitty judgment calls in a snap that you never see coming, and hopes it’ll all work out in the end, fuck the consequences.
  I can’t fucking stand it.
Her ass has to stop taking off without us when she knows there’s nothing but trouble waiting in the dark. This is something Bass fucking Bishop should have thought about before he asked her to slip away from us and meet him at the warehouses last night where she ended up getting fucking jumped.
He may be our bookie for all events out at the warehouses and a damn good one at that, but that’s my fucking girl. He should’ve known better.
I might talk to my brothers about blacklisting his punk ass for that move alone – everyone on hand is replaceable, Raven is not. He should have fucking thought of that.
The second we realized she ran, we tossed him out, called up our boys, and went searching.
The problem, Raven’s spent the better part of her life sneaking around others. We knew we’d only find her if she wanted us to. Going to look was more us hoping her ass was walking around to clear her mind.
Hours ticked by and she was nowhere in sight, so we came home to wait her out while our boys kept looking, hitting random house parties around town in search of her.
“I still think Bass is hiding something,” Royce spits, tilting his head to look along the porch. “Little bitch is out pretending to hunt for her, he prolly knows exactly where she’s at.”
