A second chance romance

What happens when you fall for the boy next door?

Bea Norwood had the market on normal.
Drama free life? Check.
A single-mother who doubled as her confidant and partner in crime? Check.
A neighbor and best friend she trusted more than anyone? Check.
But that was until the day her mother remarried. The day that changed everything.

When her best friend's cousin, Liam Falcon, is sent to live with his aunt and uncle to clean up his act, Bea finds herself falling for the boy next door. With their hearts so infinitely entwined, Bea turns to Liam as her only escape from her new step-brother's daily torment at home. Bea thought their love could conquer anything. But she was wrong. Love was for fools, and she was the biggest fool of them all. When Liam left Lakeport, he took her heart with him, shattering the organ to pieces.

Six years later, Liam takes a trip back to Lakeport to visit his family, and to see HER.
His first love.
The girl who holds his heart.
The same girl who shattered it six years ago without looking back.

Liam is hell-bent on seeing Bea again after six years, but what he finds tears his heart in half. Bea Norwood is a shell of the girl he fell in love with. Underneath the baggy clothes, and pale skin, he knows she's still in there somewhere, he just needs to find her.
Liam will stop at nothing to win his girl back, but sometimes, ignorance is bliss, and Liam isn't prepared for Bea's truth.

Warning: Contains themes of abuse. May cause triggers.

The story can be read from  differente perrspective, from the perspective of Bea and Liam.  We get sight into the past and the present, but it was not disturbing at all. This story has been perfectly written. As you read it, it seems like a heavy weight is pushing your chest. You want to cry or hit someone, this is the perfect euphoria. This book should be on my TOP list of this year and the printed version will be on my bookshelf.

In the beginning we read how our main characters got to know each other. Bea was a selfless, free, open-minded, but shy girl, while Liam was handsome and kind. The perfect pair. As it should be, they love each other. I loved these cute and sincere moments, it was really felt that they were foolish for each other.

But one day everything changed, everything went wrong. This story is guaranteed to smash you. I wanted to cry so much, but I didn't know because my anger was stronger. I shouted: Why doesn't she do something? When will this madness end? And finally to the writer: Why did you do this to me?

Unfortunately, 1,000 people have to experience the same horror, and unfortunately they can only put an end to it. Be strong! Always! Fight for yourself and for your life wich you can control! ALWAYS!

Do you think you can hate and love something at the same time? I think so, and I hated and loved this story at the same time. Why? I can not tell you. Read it!

A tökéletes páros.

FEBRUARY 2011

Since my birthday is tomorrow and my mom is taking me out to dinner with Richard and Connor, Myrah wanted to do something special for me too. This morning when I got to her house, she made me sit back and watch Mean Girls , again, while she gave me a manicure and pedicure. After that, her mom dropped us off at the mall, and I used my weekly allowance on a few clothing items that I thought would impress Liam. Now that we’re back home, I can’t help but notice how strange Myrah’s acting. Every time I ask where Liam is, she changes the subject.
Did he forget my birthday? Is he with another girl?
Thoughts of all kind flow through my head until I feel like it might explode. Myrah finally puts me out of my misery by dragging me out of her house to mine. She covers my eyes with her hands after closing the front door and leads me down my hallway. I can’t see a thing underneath her hands, its pitch black and I constantly feel like I’ll bump into something at any second, even though I know I probably won’t. With my sight taken from me, I’m hyper aware of everything else surrounding me. The sound of my heavy breathing and our feet shuffling along the hardwood floors.
“Okay, just a little more,” she says from behind me with her hands firmly covering my eyes.
“What are you showing me anyway? You know I hate surprises, Myrah.”
“I promise you’ll like this one. Think of it as an early birthday gift.”
“Fine,” I grumble, and we finally come to a stop.
“Open your eyes, Bea,” she says with a smile in her voice. I slowly blink my eyes open, letting them adjust to the light in the room. The very first thing I notice is my furniture wrapped and covered in plastic. That’s when I see the paint splashes. My eyes dart up to my ceiling and I gasp. Tears spring to my eyes as I walk into the center of the room.
“Do you like it?” His voice trails across my skin from beside me. I hadn’t even realized he was in here, but I should have figured.
Liam has paint splotches all over his white t-shirt and on his hands and arms. He looks handsome, and like a complete mess. A huge grin spreads across my face.
“Liam, you remembered,” I whisper. “I can’t believe you did this for me. It’s beautiful.”
And I’m not lying, it is beautiful. The galaxy is painted on my ceiling, in a kaleidoscope of colors like dark blue and purple, with bright planets, and even brighter colored stars. It’s like looking through a telescope, but it’s on my ceiling, and I can stare whenever I want.
“Of course I remembered. You said you wanted the universe, so, I brought the universe to you, sweet B.”
Warmth fills my chest at his words. I turn back toward him, and the first tear leaks out of the corner of my eye. It’s the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me. I don’t understand what’s happening between us lately, but whatever it is, I want it, need it. Just as much as I need my next breath.
I throw myself into his arms, and he squeezes me tightly against his body. I rest my head on his firm chest and inhale his scent that I love so much—a hint of spice and laundry detergent. Lifting my head up, I raise my mouth to his for a soft kiss that sends tingles down my spine and leaves a permanent tattoo on my heart with his name written all over it.
